Organization of the Postgraduate Program

    1. The MSc has a duration of three (3) academic semesters of education,
    2. Postgraduate students are provided, according to paragraph 2 of article 33 of Law 4485/2017 4485/2017 (114A), the possibility of part-time study for working students, the duration of which may not exceed twice the normal attendance. Part-time attendance is also provided for non-working postgraduate students who are unable to meet the minimum requirements of the “full-time” program and for particularly serious cases such as: illness, workload, serious family reasons, military service, force majeure, for which the General Assembly of the Department decides.
    3. Postgraduate students may be granted, upon application, a temporary suspension of studies,, which may not exceed two (2) semesters. During the suspension, the graduate student loses his student status. The time of suspension does not not count towards the maximum duration of normal studies.
      It is possible and only in exceptional cases such as: illness, workload, serious family reasons, military service, reasons of force majeure, an extension of studies may be granted before the beginning of the academic semester and up to one (1) academic year, following a reasoned decision of the CC and ratification of the decision by the Assembly of the School of Medicine. Only postgraduate students who have completed the first semester of study can apply for an extension.
    4. For matters of course review in due courses or deletion for reasons such as:
      a) insufficient progress of the postgraduate student (which is documented by non-participation in the educational process: attendance, examinations),
      b) conduct that offends academic ethics, such as plagiarism, and
      c) application by the postgraduate student himself/herself,
      The Assembly of the Department decides on a proposal of the Coordinating Committee, which decides on the terms of the review and the reasons for deletion.
    5. If the postgraduate student fails the examination of a course or courses up to two times and is considered not to have successfully completed the program, he/she is examined, upon his/her request, by a three-member committee of faculty members of the School, who have the same or related subject matter with the examined course and are appointed by the Assembly of the Department. The review of the course(s) takes place within ten (10) days from the end of the examination period during which the student fails ( on his/her first attempt).
    6. Postgraduate students are enrolled, following a relevant announcement by the Secretariat and participate in the Postgraduate Program under the terms and conditions provided for in the relevant Regulation of the Postgraduate Program Postgraduate students have all the rights, benefits and facilities provided for students of the first course of study other than the right to free textbooks. . The Department of Medicine must provide facilities for postgraduate students with disabilities and/or special educational needs.
    7. Studies at the MSc begin with the courses of the winter semester in early October. The teaching program program of each semester course lasts thirteen (13) weeks and can be developed into two-hour lessons per week. The winter semester ends at the end of January and the spring semester ends at the end of June. After the end of each semester of study, there is a week of examination of the taught courses. . The courses of the winter and spring semester are examined in the repeat exam of September. The assignment of the dissertations takes place during the second semester and is completed during the summer period, until the completion of a full academic year.
    8. The program of each semester course lasts thirteen (13) weeks and is developed in one-hour/two-hour lectures weekly, in intensive seminars with lectures, depending on the requirements of the course and the choice of the instructor.
    9. In any case, even with the use of the possibilities of the previous paragraphs of this article, the maximum time for the completion of studies, including the evaluation of the postgraduate thesis, may not exceed three (3) years from the enrollment of the postgraduate student in the MSc
